From Campus to Garden: Native Seed Collecting and Packing Workshop

[Spring 2025 | April 25, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm MST] Join the Center for Native and Urban Wildlife in collecting seeds from the native plants on campus, processing and packaging them into seed packets to give to the community!

Description

Participate in an activity hosted by the Center for Native and Urban Wildlife (CNUW) that will take you around campus to learn about the native plants and the seeds they produce! Assist in the various processes of creating seed packets for the Maricopa Native Seed Library, including: collecting and processing seeds, labelling packets, and packaging seeds the community can take home for free to grow plants that support our native wildlife.

About the Center for Native and Urban Wildlife:

The Center for Native and Urban Wildlife (CNUW) is an organization at Scottsdale Community College that aims to bring students, staff, faculty, and the community together to learn about biodiversity and responsible desert living through active involvement with our environment. 

CNUW’s projects including educational programs, native plant and animal exhibits, field trips, camping, hiking, and restoration work are available to students and community members through Service-Learning events, the Sonoran Desert Club, work-study internships, and volunteer opportunities.
